Welcome, new Recorders!

Congratulations on your successful election! We want you to know that your Indiana Recorders Association (IRA) is here for you. There are many resources here on this website. I would first direct your attention to our Getting Started Guide for new Recorders. This step-by-step guide will help you to get up to speed quickly on your new role as County Recorder.

Next, and very important, is our Newly-Elected Officer (NEO) training conference coming up on December 12-13 at the Hyatt in Indianapolis, hosted by the Indiana State Board of Accounts (SBOA) and Association of Indiana Counties (AIC). It is vital that you attend this conference to begin learning the ropes and to get to know your Association and fellow Recorders. Indiana law requires all Recorders to complete 15 hours of education in your first year

, and 40 hours within three years. You will nail down twelve of those credit hours at this training conference.

Finally, every two years we publish a directory of Indiana Recorders. We will need your information and photograph to go in the directory. Please download this New Recorders Questionnaire (fill-in PDF), enter your information, save the file, and email it along with a good quality photograph to Beth Keeney, Clinton County Recorder, at bkeeney@clintonco.com If you do not have a suitable photo, we will have a camera at the conference.

Here are the slides from the SBOA session about the Recorders Perpetuation Fund.
