Lanyard Drive!

Attention Recorders! We are having a “lanyard drive” this year at our conference. If you would like to gather up all the old lanyards and plastic badge holders from past conferences, we will have a box at registration to collect them for re-use. (I found nine of the things in my desks! -Eric) This is an opportunity for us to reduce our “junk” and for the Association to save some money by recycling. Thank you very much!

IRA Spring Conference coming up!

All Recorders are encouraged to join us for our annual conference on April 14-16, 2020, at the Hilton Downtown Indianapolis. We are expecting to have an agenda from the State Board of Accounts in early March, and our own detailed schedule should follow soon after. For now, you can find registration forms (for Recorders and vendors) on our Conference Materials resource page.

IRA Conference 2019

Update: NEW this year! We will be trying out the Convene service to manage the event schedule, for those who wish to use it. There is an app for any smartphone that lets you see the entire schedule of the conference, as well as information about sessions, speakers, conference rooms, and other aspects. There is also a feature that allows attendees to check into the various sessions by using your smartphone to scan a QR code, which we will have outside the conference room, meaning that you won’t have to use a sign-in sheet. There is more information about Convene on the Thompson-Reuters website, and it is free to install and use the app. (In fact, it is free for the association to use. Thompson Reuters was also kind enough to enable the premium features for us to try out.)

To set up the app: Just install Convene (by Thompson Reuters) on your smartphone, register for an account, and then find event code IRA2019. Once you have that done, it’s really pretty intuitive how to use it. Give it a try now!

Congratulations again to all our new Recorders, and we hope everyone has a great year!
